I recently got my car on the road and have been having a bit of trouble. For a bit, it would grind in every single gear and shift extremely harshly. Also, when sitting in 1st with the clutch depressed, the car would inch forward. Came to the conclusion that the clutch wasn't getting enough travel. Went home and adjusted the rod to the master cylinder on the clutch pedal as well as bleed the system. Grinds went almost 100% away and would shift a lot smoother. Now, the car grinds OCCASIONALLY putting it into first from a dead stop. Also, the it seems to grind a bit when downshifting when the car isn't perfectly rev-matched. Any ideas as to why? Hoping the synchros are good. More adjustment maybe?

Sounds like synchro damage from dragging the clutch which you fixed, although it might be too late in terms of damage done.

Have you done a clutch drag test after adjustment to make sure there isn't any more drag?

I haven't done one yet.
Also, how painful is it to replace synchros? Worth just getting a new transmission? Ha.

UPDATE: Took the car to the flatest spot I could find so it wouldn't roll on its own, put it in first and revved. Car started inching forward at around 7k or so. So I can confirm there is a bit more drag. If I were to sort this out IMMEDIATELY, still hope for my synchros to be alive or are they probably shot?
