Hey guys. I'm planning on purchasing a hallman pro boost controller and a boost gauge. I also have a 3' intake pipe/filter on order. I was wondering if I only run these mods for now, will I be able to safely raise the boost of my stock t-25? Also I have a stock BOV. Will it be able to handle raised boost properly?

thanks a lot!

PS I was hoping to raise it to about 15psi

Not to be a jerk but these types of topics are covered everyday, and the majority of most questions will be answered if you type in a general statement of your question in the search field.

All we can do is encourage that you read; on the other hand the moderators will take more action if you repeatedly disobey rules.

To be on the nicer side though, you should not turn up the boost till you have some way of logging and telling how your motor is running. Ideally you tune for knock when turning up the boost.
However 2g BOVs leak at i believe 15psi and are garbage, the t-25 cannot handle a great amount of boost so you can't push 18-19psi like a 14b can.

Next id get some type of logger and see how the car is running, maybe you can get by turning the boost up 1-2psi but its not going to make a huge difference and may end up not making anymore power at stock boost level if your knocking. Now which logger is best? Research and figure out which would be best suitable for you.

Like i said, a lot of information can be had with reading and research. I found your answer in 10 seconds by the way.

Like viprez586 said, you really should have some way to log your system. The plastic BOV on a 2g is sure to leak if you raise the boost. A 1g BOV is better suited for this application. Raising boost without a logger is a gamble that you shouldn't take. Running lean will result in more trouble than fun. Good luck.

:( guess it's off to the junkyard..maybe ill get lucky and find a 1g with the BOV still there..most likely not though. DSMs get raped real quick.

Every car is different. But with my ole t-too-small the biggest bang for the buck mod that I did was a hard upper intercooler pipe with 1g BOV. The plastic uicp is very restrictive and the plastic bov leaks. Search ebay for a hard uicp mine is a Dave Brode but they are made by most performance shops.

14-15psi is usually fine on stock fuel with the T25, but not stock blow off valve. Every car is different, so what is fine for one may not be for the other, which is why it is a good idea to have a logger to see what your car is doing when making changes such as upping the boost

The stock BOV on a 2G is plastic and will leak if you up the boost, so you really want to upgrade to either a 1G bov, or an aftermarket bov like the HKS SSQV which you can see here.

I would look into purchasing a logger soon or save and get DSMlink as your next mod. Really is worth every penny ;)

Any questions you can send me a PM anytime!

You won't be able to turn boost up with the stock BOV. It actually leaks as early as 11-12psi. Up it up to a aftermarket non-leaking one and you can safely up it to about 15 psi and no more. Simple as that.

Your most effective solution (and cheapest) is to get a 1g bov and either the 1g to 2g bov adapter, or a hard uicp that is flanged for a 1g. You can raise boost a couple psi, but any more than that AT LEAST get a wideband to monitor your AFR.

Tip about the SSQV, do not vent!

Recirculate your BOV back into the intake tract please.

I won't be venting to atmosphere. Believe me..I'm about as far from rice as you will meet. I don't care about making "cool" sounds and attracting attention. I want my car to be reliable and fast.

I was thinking of removing my BCS restrictor to add a little psi, would that be a bad idea with no fuel mods? I have a 1g bov.
