rain killed my car again need help

ok so before i left my car out in the rain and the alternator went out of no where. yet again it was out today and it died. but for the past two days when i start my car up a smell of fireworks? lets off in my engine bay and smokes for a bit somewhere by the driverside radiator? i dont really no where to start i havn't driven the car hard or anything. anyone know what this can be?

It's stupid but gotta ask . Are there any bare wire's that could possibly be shorting out causing it to do that ? just my thought i had a blazer that did that , but it kept blowing the ecm fuse,( leaky windshield and they ran the main harness for the FP and tail lights on the driverside floor) so i know what your talkin bout as far as smell . I would look at harness spots that could be grounding out when it rains ,, Hope it helps

Have you tried replacing the alternator? And yes, look for bare wires.

i replaced the alternator not to long ago going to try to mess with it today
