radiator overflow is always overflowing but car is not overheating

the needle on my temp gauge never goes past the middle.. fans work properly, car doesnt over heat but every few minutes it starts spewing coolant out of the over flow line.... like its over heating or something...is this normal? do i need to be worried about loosing the amount of coolant in my radiator?

yes i did cause the line that goes from the radiator hose to the TB was butsed and leaking coolant.... so i replaced it then topped off the coolant.....did i put to much or??......

Three major things cause coolant to boil out of the tank, assuming you've bled your coolant system properly.

A) Bad radiator cap and/or crud around mating surface
B) Crack or pinhole leak in hose
C) Blown head gasket

Check the cheap things first... replace your radiator cap and clean the neck where it seals. Make sure you get all the air out of the system. If it's still doing it, check your hoses for leaks. If you can't find any, then you most likely have a blown head gasket.

I had the same problem. every time I shut the car off it would puke a little past the cap. every time I would refill it finally I just left it and It puked once and never did it again. I also agree with lacroixdp I ended up spending $400 on my head because I thought it was the head gasket.
