radiator fans position

Hello

Hi have a 97 eclipse GST.
i want to know if anyone have locate their fan radiators like the evo setup, driver side's fan located is between the radiador and the motor and passenger side fan radiator is between the radiator and the front bumper. I want to go this set up because i got an 3inch turbo manifold similar to the OBX shape. If i put that manifold i have to remove my driver side fan so i want to keep it to go track.

So does it safe to do that?? do i have to change the wires position ### on fan radiator is gonna be on the opposite side??

I have take off all the a/c radiator and hose.

The drivers side fan is the AC fan, I'm pretty sure the only time it turns on is when the car is sitting at idle and the AC is on. So that fan isn't even necessary, it can be just removed entirely. The main fan's shroud is probably too thick to relocate it to the front of the radiator. If I were you I would just look into getting a set of slim fans to replace your stock fans.

The AC fan kicks on as an emergency measure when the ECU sees excessive water temps as well as running when the AC is on. Many people also hard-wire their AC fan to run with their radiator fan or they'll face slightly higher than ideal water temps.

You can't just swap the fan over because it's a puller fan, you'd need to buy a pusher fan.

If I were you I would just look into getting a set of slim fans to replace your stock fans.

I agree on the slim fans. I plan on doing that soon so I have more space in their.

On the passenger side I run a pusher on the front side of car and a puller on the engine side. Driver side i have a pusher in front of the radiator, all slim fans btw. All 3 run all the time.

thanks for the info. I forgot to mention i have the mishimoto 12' slim fans. When i used only 1 fan, passenger side, i got troubles of high water temp. I think mines are puller fans, so where do i can find a pusher fan, any brand??

mmm well i dont know what can be wrong with mines. My buddy's eclipse runs the oem radiator fan without problem.


I ask a mishimoto seller about their radaitor fans and told me that they can be used as a puller or pusher, so does anyone knows which cables do i have to change to invert my radiator fan?? thanks
