the idiot mechanics that put my engine in didnt hook up my radiator fan for some reason(and tried to to tell me my fluidyne wouldnt fit and would require "extensive fabrication" to get it in there, took me about a half hour to put it in with a screwdriver and a set of sockets)

the car is a 91 awd, and it has spal fans. the one on the drivers side isnt hooked up, and the one on the passanger side works.
there are 4 wires comming out of the woring harness by the fan, 1 solid black, 1 blak w/white stripe, 1 solid blue, the other blue w/red stripes or something.
my fan has 1 blus and 1 black wore comming from it, so i matches those wires to the same colors from the harness, and it doesnt seem to work. although i do have the other fan wired to a switch and i keep it on all the time to compensate, so the coolant temp hasent gone over 200 since i put the radiator in. i havent tested to see if the fan might be dead because it worked before the engine swap, i will test it if someone tell me this is the right wiring.

if anyone could tell me which wires go to the fan i woud apriciate it. because otherwise on just going to end up wiring the fans to toggle switches and leave the 10" on all the time instead of the 12".

What I ended up doing on mine is running the switched power from the ecu to my fan so It would stay on while my turbotimer was on and run until the ecu clicked off. I'll check on the wire color for you though.

blue- power
black- ground

I was think of what you could do with two fans is have the 10" run all the time off of a switched power that is on when the car is on and have the 12" kick on if the car gets to warm via the stock fan relay.

yea, i assumed that the blue and black wires from the fan were power and ground, but when i hooked them to the solid blue and solid black wires from the harness the fan still doesnt come on

if i remember correctly, doesnt the fan switch on at something like 217 degrees collant temp? so could it be possible that my radiator fan isnt comming on because i run the 12" ac fan constantly(usually a consistant 194-197 coolant temp)?
im also wondering why my ac fan doesnt stay on all the time, its wired to the ac switch(my ac has been removed), but sometimes it doesnt come on right away, but its probally a short somewhere soince it worked fine before the swap. but its never taken so long to come on that my temp got high

i guess wiring it to a switch directly might be the best idea, more control over the fans and less worring about why it isnt comming on when i want it to. i put male/femals disconnects on all the wires to i can just switch them around easily if i need to change something

having the 12" on the relay would be fine, but finding out which oif the wires comming from the harness will hook the relay to the fan is the problem. the 10" is on the drivers side for clearance reasons, and the 12" is wired to the ac switch already.

thanks for the help

I just got a C&R radiator with a single 12" fan on the passenger side. I was thinking of adding a 10" or 9" on the driver side and decided to talk to my mechanic about it.

My mechanic (who used to be Mitsu dealer mechanic) said the driver side fan is there to help cooling when the A/C is used. The stock fan has it's own switch gear. You can see it on the stock fan. That turns the fan on when a certain temp is reached. So if you want the driver side fan (aftermarket) to function like the stock one, you 'd have to rig up the temp switch to work with the fan.
