so i was interested in picking up another laser but it needs steelcables for the r&p. can anybody tell me what these cables do? and how hard would it be to install them? the car has no power steering is that what the cables are for?

You mean steel lines, oil is supposed to flow through them, do you have oil in the power steering reservoir tank?

Say screw it and do the flyin' miata mod. There are write ups on it. Basically converts your PS rack to a manual. Albeit, not as SMOOTH a manual, but a manual rack nonetheless. Its better than looping the lines.

If you want to restore power steering and the guy deleted everything then you will have to piece together all the plumbing. If i were you i wouldnt mess with it. Keep it looped then do the miata mod when you have time to tear it apart.


Above member is right, , oil flows through them. PS fluid to be exact. Thats what puts the "power" in power steering
