qusetion about logger results

Normal? Probably. Good? No.

You probably are getting knock.

Are you sure your o2 sensors are good?
Knock sensor good?
Plugs/wires good and gapped correctly?
Proper octane?
Boost not too high?
Base timing set at 5* BTDC?

If you posted a log it would be helpful as well.
 
From what I read, That is normall.... At idle, that car tends to time mid 20's and towards WOT, it will get towards 5

yes this is normal but you really need to post your log so we can see what you timing end up a redline! when you first go wot timing will drop big time but should gragually increase and eventually end up at about 18 degrees at redline anything less indicate that you are detonated more than you need too ! post your log if possible and maybe a couple of us dsmers here can try and help you:thumb:

If you are running the stock fuel maps your timing will advance to 16.That is what the stock timing is on a 2g ECU.If you put an safc on or anything else to change your fuel and air you then will see a change in timing.
 
16 huh? Mind sharing where that number came from?

Original Poster, your timing will dip when you go WOT and then should smoothly climb back up. Where it maxes out at the top of the gear will let you know if you can run more boost or lean it out more, etc. If your car has mid 20's timing at idle how high is your idle? Every 2g I've ever seen with a stock idle has 8-12 degrees at idle, idle being 750-850 RPM.

Also post a log and we'll see what we can see.

I was saying if you do not change the afr with an safc,or changing the timing with dsmlink,On a stock ecu your timing advance will only go to 16*.I know this cause that is what my stock ecu would advance the timing to.When I got the keydiver stage 3 chip,I had jeff change it so it would advance to 19*.Andy Moraitis also gave me that info.

Close, but your statement needs clairification. ;)

This is dependant on airflow. Anything over 2.1 g/rev and the ECU will limit you to 16 degrees. Less than that and the ECU will have you on a lower airflow map, i.e. a higher timing map, and you will peak higher than 16 degrees.

Just look at people that are running SAFC's. We are only changing the airflow to the ECU and we end up with higher timing. :thumb:
