I wanted the best of both worlds, quiet car with the best performance and exhaust flow. I bought a 3" exhaust cut-out from QTP and welded some 3" slip fit connectors to 2 flanges and slipped it in-line with my RNR exhaust. I trimmed a bit around the edges of the flapper on the exhaust cut-out so that limited exhaust could flow around it.
After some fabrication, I got it to fit underneath the car with good ground clearance. With the flapper closed (or mostly closed) I get a good sounding nice quiet car. When I need performance, I flip the switch and the valve opens up all the way to bring it to the normal sound level while providing the same performance as before.
Thus far it as worked very well with no problems.
...I have it for my gsx, w/ and N1 muffler and its pretty dang quiet too. I have a megan O2 eliminator Dp and RNR catback and I couldn't be happier! Not to get off topic, but have you guys read about RNR lately? It seems that their usual 3 month wait has been turning into a "forever" wait. Meaning some guys have reported back that they didn't even their exhausts in and it's been over 6-12 months!
I would recommend the Espelir or Megan for a 2g awd, from Hopupracing, or RRE...both have the best prices, hands down for those catbacks.
