[RESOLVED]
The rubbed gasket around the thermostat is not used on 1g's. I used a paper felpro water neck gasket with a thin layer of black silicone permatex hi-temp RTV on both sides of the gasket. No leaks.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Specifically for a 1g NT.
My thermostat is stuck open and is over-cooling. The thermostat i am getting does not have a rubber seal around the outside of it.
What gaskets and seals were used as OEM? I've seen flat paper gaskets that seal the water neck to the thermostat housing, and i've seen rubber seals that fit around the perimeter of the thermostat.
DO I NEED BOTH THE FLAT PAPER GASKET AND THE RUBBER SEAL?
