I'm just wondering what the purpose is of the sensor that connects to the fuel pump. I ask because I was recently tightening the bolts which hold that sensor in place, and both (yes, both) of the bolts broke with very little tightening. The sensor is hanging loose, yet I have not noticed a difference in driving conditions with it unbolted.

What sensor?

Its the plastic sensor that looks kinda like the tps or map sensors. Its bolted to the top of the pump.

"I don't see any bolts on the sensor....."

That's because the sensor I'm referring to isn't shown in that picture.

The only other sensor I can think of might be your Low Fuel idiot light.

Wait till you're low on gas and see if the light comes on. Haha.

Just going by my tried and true theory of "if you break something and it doesn't keep your car from starting or running, it must not be that important!"

(LOL. just kidding..... :shhh: )

That's the only other sensor I know of that would live near the fuel pump. If the gauge works, then it's gotta be the idiot light. You don't need that thing anyway.....do you???? :thumb:

I didn't see any pics of the sensor I'm talkin about listed in the faq. I'll post a pic up tomorrow so you guys know what I'm talkin about. Thanks.

Here's the sensor. (black) Gas light still comes on when low on fuel, so its not for that.
