I'm in the process of putting in a new in-dash cd/dvd/mp3 radio as you read this and before I plug this thing in, I was wondering if anyone could let me know what these 3 wires are that come from the car for a radio or reciever. I'm pretty sure that they're for the stock infiniti unit or something but I'd like to know what each is and does just to be sure. Pictures below (Please excuse crappy Blacberry photos). Thanks,

They look like antenna wire the one with the spade the other a cd changer perhaps round with connector.

Thanks for noticing my post so soon haha, but I have the antenna wire labeled and you're right, it does look like it would be the gray wire and they're really similar, but the real antenna wire that I have been using on my last radio is black and isnt strung w/ these three. Hmmmmmm. Oh an btw everyone, these three wires in the pictures are strung together with elec. tape throughout my dash to my radio area.

Yeah I just did some research on DSMtalk.com and found a similar post, someone said that one of the thick black ones may be for the cd changer, like @iugrad92turbo said, that is in the 2g hatch that was for the stock infiniti unit, seems very plausible. The same guy also said that one of the thick black ones may be for the stock infiniti sub unit under the PS seat. I just don't know which wire is which as they didn'e specify and my carpet and seats aren't pulled out, time to trail these SOB's...

First couple of pics are for the antana in the rear window. The secone two pics are the connector for the factory AMP. The last two, not sure... maybe factory CD changer.

yeah the one is for the factory amp and the is for the factory cd changer ebay has the kit for the factory amp pretty cheap thats were i got mine for $3.00.

so were do you plug that other antenna wire in at?

There are 2 antennas. One is printed on the rear glass above the defrost. The other one is the normal one.

I just read on another post that only the GST/X "FM Diversity" package came with this rear window antenna that plugs into the stock Infinti unit, but I have a 97 GS? Does anyone have a picture of this secondary antenna?

Honestly, it looks just like a second set of defog lines at the top of the glass, if it looks like the defog lines go all the way to the very top of the glass then you have the in glass antenna. I wish I had the glass antenna, I prefer that over a regular whip antenna, I got a much better reception with the glass than I ever did with the regular one.

The infinity head unit has 2 antenna plugs in the back of it. when I had my eclipse I swapped out the factory head unit for an aftermarket one and picked up one of those antenna adapter harnesses from Wal-Mart so I could plug in the smaller of the two (the one for the glass) into my head unit.

Sick, that's what I figured was it but I just wanted to make sure. I'll have to go pick up one of the splitters soon maybe, though I don't listen to the radio much, iPod ftw, but thanks man.

Every single eclipse I've had has 2 antennas. One on window. The other by the trunk.

Okay, this is the only one I've owned and I was searching these forums on my questions before I posted like we are supposed to do, and that's what everyone on this topic was saying, but I know that's wrong because I have the extra antenna
