Quick question

I am looking at a motor for purchase on craigslist. I have an auto 7 bolt and the motor is a 6 bolt. This will not bolt up properly without a new tranny or a new bottom end on the motor right?

It will bolt up fine. You will have issues with the wiring though. Not sure exactly what but there is a write up on this site on how to do the swap.

If your car is awd it won't work without an adapter. I am not sure about a fwd car.

hmm I may have to look in to this purchase then. 400 for a running 6 bolt.

And the car is a FWD

so a 1g 6bolt engine will bolt up with no issues to a 2g 7 bolt FWD automatic?

I just want to make this as clear as possible for me.

NVM, he has it pulled from the car but has no proof that it runs.

Yes it will. You will just have to make sure that it comes with the correct flywheel. Other than that it will bolt up. Just search this site for the link. Or check Vfq.com
