Ok, i just did my timing belt and water pump...took me about 2 days but i did get it finally.

My question is...should i give the belt and pump a break-in period before running it kinda hard??

 It took me 2 days also when I did mine because I just threw all the bolts in one pile and forgot wich ones went where. I didn't give any break in time on mine but I don't know if you are supose to. Nothing bad has happened yet. Knock on wood.

LOL i know how that goes...most of mine were scattered through out the garage. I had a few left over where i was just like eh, u don't need that one its sturdy enough. i took about a 2 hour break saturday and friday i only worked for probably about 4 hours. So in all it took about 10 hours.

Damn atleast i'm not the only one with that problem. I had 1 freakin bolt left over when i did my timing belt and water pump. It was a pretty damn big bolt too but i honestly could not find where it went at all!!! Looked for 2 stright hours and stil couldn't find where it went. Everything seemed sturdy and fine so it was fine with me. 6,000 miles later and still no problems. By the way i drove it like i would normally after i did the install, you don't need a break in period. It's not a new motor just a new belt.

It's my opinion that you having the sense to think of this is indication that you'll give it enough consideration to let it get comfy before really USING it.
