whats up gurus, i was able to sumble on a 1g head i plan on buildin to drop in my 2g (stock 7bolt bottom end).....the question i was wondering was, would the 2g cam caps fit on the 1g head??... the head that i was given did not have the caps, so i was wondering if i can use the 2g caps since the cams i'm runnin (FP1's) are interchangable....any help would be appreciated....thanks

I don't know if this is the exact right thing to do or anything, but when I did my 1G head swap on my 2G, I used my 2G caps because we got the caps on the 1G screwed up. We also used 2G cams too. I don't know if that helps you at all.

Gixrman makes a very good point. Everything is machined to fit one another and with the cam sensor's being different you could be short a cap. I would try and find a complete 1g head. Mixing and matching parts is never a good idea. Especially with the money you are putting into the motor you are best off just to get a new one.

you could have the cam caps line honed to fit the 1G head but as cheap as the 1G heads are like the other guys I would suggest getting another 1G head.

They are right, the caps should always stay with the same head, even between same generation heads.
