So just stripped my baby 420A naked and was just wondering how to get the back timing belt casing off
would I need to take the cam gears off, its about the only thing I can think of to get it off also with the tensioners of course. trying to get the head off if that makes any different

A little confusing but yes, of course you must remove the timing belt in order to remove the head. you need to remove the serpentine belts, remove the crank pulley, remove the timing covers, release the timing belt tension, and remove the timing belt. Then the head can come up. (assuming you've remove the intake and exhaust etc. I don't know if the 420a needs the cam sprockets removed to pull the cover behind it, but never the less, the head will come off with that cover and sprockets still in place.
