1G Quick Question About Factory Sound System.

Does my CAR come with a SUBWOOFER from factory?


its a 91 TSI AWD.


because it doesn't have a sub now but im woondering if it was an option.

To my knowledge a sub was never a factory option on any year DSM.

they look like maybe hookups for something?


they aren't attached to anything.

Not sure about 1g's but my 2'g has a factory amp under the seat.

The top shelf sound system for a DSM (1G) was a six speaker setup. A pair of 6x9's by the rear seats, a pair of 6" in the doors, and a pair of 4" in the dashboard. The amplifier was mounted to the floor under the radio.

The harness under the seat is most likely for the factory amp.

i think the amp was mounted behind the dash for 1g's and under the seat for 2g's. since you have a 1g it's possible that the previous owner may have ran wires themselves, as under the front seats are usual mounting spaces for aftermarket amps.
