Yes there is. It bolts from the back of the intake to the block. It also has about 4 vacuum lines running thru it also. You must take out at minimum the two intake bolts.
 
Thanks guys i got it. I pulled the head, look down at fairly clean pistons and can still see the crosshatch in the cylinders.
 
Hell the bottom is solid. Im just going to drop the head off to be cleaned and shaved after some port work, put my new arps in, throw the new tbelt on and ride. Oh forgot a bse. But the engine is solid and clean. It was knocking a bit but found out it was the flex plate bolts had backed out LOL. And no jacob this is not the windowed block in my eclipse
 
Those bolts on the flex plate to the torque convertor have caused many of head aches around here. Check and make sure your flex plate isn't cracked around the bolt hole areas. Also make sure that bolt is in at the back bottom hole on the tranny. That will cause the flex plate to flex more and loosen the tc bolts. Ask me how I know.
