My CEL is on, and I was wondering if I could plug in a logger and read my codes w/o the vehicle running?? I cant start the car because my motor is slightly torn apart. Thanks in advance. :thumb:
Uhhh, doesn't the CEL stay on until you turn the car over anyway?

We're on the wrong page here. I know I'm throwing several codes. I dodnt get a chance to plug in a logger and read them before I tore my turbo and manifold off. I was wondering if there was a way to read the codes with the logger w/o starting the car.

I'm pretty sure that is the only way to clear them...key in the ACC position, turn on logger, etc.

Edit: See what we mean by "Vague description = Vague diagnosis"? :p

So, if I had a bad O2 sensor (or a bad TPS or CAS) and it was throwing a code, I could read that with the logger with the car not running??

Thanks for the replys.
As long as your ECU was not reset (unlikely as you have the motor torn apart, and I know you didn't leave the battery diconnected for that ;)); yes.

But if the sensors are still on the engine and not connected to the ECU it's going to rather quickly throw a bunch of new codes.
