I recently bought this:

used. I am trying to get it working but I think I'm missing a cable or something... Can anyone help?

No but I downloaded all the software... I got the usb/serial cable and I dont know how to set up hotsync. It says push the button on the cradle, but im not using the cradle
 
Ok, So i got everythingn installed, MMCD is on the Palm, but when i try to hook it to the diagnostic port, it gets no signal. I hooked it up like this

the green in the upper left
and the clear and black in the lower right

Ive also tried it this way:

this is a non turbo by the way, if that makes a difference
 
answer. i believe mmcd requires a multiplex cable, i believe thats just a standard datalogger cable, used for palm n stein and the TMO logger

there are 3 different logger cables available

the palm'n'stein/tunerstein/TMO one, which looks like the one you have
the mmcd one which is pretty complex (multiplex)
and the digital tuning pocketlogger one, which is proprietary the them i believe.


you should have the cables plugged in to these pins.

try loading the palmn stein software and see if that works instead.
 
The guy I bought it from had it working on his 91, so I dont think thats it, thanks for your feedback though
 
I would guess the white (clear) wire is the data line (pin1), the green is mode select(pin10), and the black is ground(pin12).

The multiplex cable is only needed to OBD II applications with Paln'n Stein. MMCd doesn't do OBD II only OBD I on the 90-94 cars.

I did it exactly like that just now and still nothing... could hooking it up wrong damage something, cause ive had it hooked up a few different ways... Any other suggestions?

That cable looks like the one I bought off of Ebay. The cable I recieved is for a laptop, wich does not work with palm unless you use a null modem adapter. Go to Radioshack and buy one.. If it doesn't work just return it, but that is how I fixed my problem.
 
so ignore my last comment about mmcd using a different cable, mine works fine with both. i have a laptop cable so i had to use a null modem adapter and a male to male db9 converter for mine to work, the null modem adapater i got was female to male
