Ok for starters i did search quit i bit before posting this, for two days to be exact. I installed my mbc the other day and after getting everything connected right its still not working properly. I know i have a few leaks blah blah blah, they are soon to be fixed also. My problem is i dont really have time to get a nipple welded on the j-pipe at the moment and dont know what size the hole is on the compressor housing or i would have tried that route also. So i did the big no no and tapped my bov line and ended up with terrible results. Does anyone know what size that things is so i can put a nipple on the compressor housing? if not is there an easier fix for this until i am able to get to a shop and get the nipple welded to the j-pipe?

Also, I dont have any MAJOR least or anything. Its more like the mbc is causing a leak. But this could also be a result of me tapping the bov compression line.

So I'm understanding you have a nipple on your compressor housing, and rather than measure it or try to stick a hose on it, you're asking what size it is?

No i have a hole on the turbo where a nipple could go but i dont really have time to do trial and error until the weekend more then likely so i was trying to see if anyone knew what size i need so i wouldnt have to buy multiple or keep going back to the store.

On the Evo 16g there is a place where you could put a fitting right before the J-pipe.

If there is "a place" then this would still require you to drill and tap the hole in question, right? or it this hole already threaded? I have a compressor cover in my lap and the only hole i see where you are describing is for a mounting tab attached to the factory water line.

thats the one im talking bout. From all the post that i read looks like they just drilled and tapped right there. Seems like it might just be easier to get a nipple put on the J-pipe though to avoid getting crap inside the housing. Is there not any other place i could tap for some sort of compression? I saw one post that said to just remove the hoses from the stock solenoid and use those for the controller, but that didnt work. Now im using the bov line like i stated and thats really not working. Im really just wondering is there anything i can do to hold me over until the weekend. Or maybe next week when i get paid, ofcourse there would be minimal driving only to and from work about 4miles each way. Right now i can make it but that care struggles to even hit 2psi and i have a leak coming out of the side of the mbc, the small release hole that prevents spiking i guess.

That picture is full of win ^^^

I believe that if you are missing the nipple on the j-pipe, it would probably be easiest just to get have one installed into the j-pipe and be done with it.

If you are loosing air from the MBC, I would say that it is either installed backwards or it is possible that its faulty. The BEST option would be not to install it at all until you have a proper place to have it located.

yes thats the hole i was referring too. After the first response i realized that its not a hole it would have to be drilled. I wanted to used that because i read its the "best" place to tap for the compression side of the mbc, but now it just seems like it would be more work them me trying to make it to an exhaust shop in the middle of the day and bumming a ride back to work.

Just run a line from the intake manifold to the MBC then to the wastegate. The spot you are talking about would work, but like you said it requires drilling, which you shouldnt be doing with the cover on the turbo. You should have 2 bungs on your Throttle body, use 1 of those.

Hey, i did it in like 1 minute on my mac, it served its purpose, LOL.

^What he said^

ok that sounds like a solution right there. So would i pretty much just be able to knock the bung out and put a fitting in there? Or is it alittle more complicated then that. Sorry if this is dumb question along with a dumb post.

Thats my next step to just take it off all together until i get the time. And i have tried installing it with the hoses on the opposite nipples like the instructions said, which was the wrong way, waste gate on the bottom and compression on the side. So i switched it when i noticed the bad instructions and not it works worse.
