I have the chance to pick up a n/t 6 bolt motor for almost nothing. The question is is the crankshaft the same as the turbo model? And what about the rods? Other that that I will be using nothing else from it in my 6 bolt build. I wanna run a big rod 2g piston, with a 2g head combo. So if the crank and rods are the same this is what I have been looking for. Thanks for any help I searched and I could not find what I needed.

From what I have been able to determine. The 4G63 is different between Turbo models and Non Turbo models in the fact the the pistons are different, the turbo block has oil sprayers to keep the pistons cool and the Intake Cam is different between the two engines. That's about all I know. I'm sure if I missed anything one of the more knowledgable posters will correct me.

In any case, many people weld the injector holes shut believing the added oil pressure is more beneficial than the oil sprayers, but mostly those that are going with forged internals do this.

What he said.
I think I read it on magnusmotorsports.com that the oil squirters are a probable cause for crankwalk.

The only thing useful to you would be the block itself

I thought that the only victims to crankwalk were the 7 bolt motors, he is asking about a 6 bolt. Please correct me if I'm wrong.:dsm:

All motors can crankwalk, just seems that the 2nd gen 7 bolts seem to have the worst luck. :notgood:

You can use the block, crank, rods(1g big rods are the same turbo/nonturbo), and the head. The difference in the turbo motors are: pistons, oil squirters, knock sensor, oil pan , and obviously all the turbo acessories. If you can pick it up for cheap go for it.
