I have searched and haven't found anything so I thought starting a thread would help me, along with others, in answering/understanding these questions..

Ok, I', looking for some parts for my Talon TSi AWD (aftermarket of course) and I was looking at a few things, so I will just list the things I was looking at along with my questions:

"Injen IS Series Intake w/ BOV Recirculation 2g DSM

The IS Series is a traditional, underhood intake system that is placed in the stock location of the factory air-box system. Each system is built from 6061, T-6 aluminum alloy to ensure the lightest design possible. Every IS system is certified or pending by the California Air Resource Board and backed by Injen Technology's limited lifetime warranty.

1995-99 Eclipse L4 2.0L Short Ram Intake System - Must have Stock Blow Off Valve"

I do not understand the "Must have Stock Blow Off Valve" portion... I bought a Greddy Type-S BOV and plan on using it..

"Prothane Motor Mount Inserts (DSM)

These should be the first modification on ANY front wheel drive DSM. It will greatly reduce wheelhop. Also recommended for AWD cars that are going to be launching hard, road racing, or driven hard on the street.

Note: These are for manual transmission vehicles only!"

Once again, I don't quite understand. For manual transmissions only..? If they don't work with auto.s, do they make specific ones for auto.s?

These might sound like the dumbest questions on earth, but I would rather be informed..

Thanks!

For the Injen intake part of the question, you don't have to use the stock blowoff valve. You just need to use a BOV that has a fitting to recirculate the vented air back into the intake system. So a HKS SSQV with a recirc fitting, Greddy Type S, 1G BOV, etc. would work.

Ok thanks..

That is what I was thinking but it was confusing, LOL. Like, what would it matter if it was a Type-S? ROFL. Better to be safe than sorry, right?

Thanks again. God bless!

i answered it for you already. Yes, you can use the Greddy BOV that you already have.

Yeah. I was searching for the link for 97-gst so he could see what I was talking about and I must have posted it too late after you.. Sorry.

It's all good. It doesn't HAVE to be a Type-S. It can be a Type-RS or Type-R. It just needs a recirc fitting.

Well the reason it "has" to be a Type-S is because I just picked one up for $100.00 LOL. So I want to use it.

And the Type-S is for lower HP than the Type-RS... I think the S is up to like 430HP? Don't hold me to that, just a guess because i forget the real stats.

Anyone have any info on the motormounts? Thanks.

Also, do you think ti would be a good idea to swap my t25 on my Talon to my Eclipse (which has a 14b), and put the 14b on my Talon?? (The Talon is the car I'm building to have power)..
