Hello I'm will be using the dsm link v3. What tune is better, a drivability tune on the street or a dyno tune?

Thanks

Unless I am misreading your post, it sounds like you're asking which company is better at tuning. If this is the case, this is irrelevant to ECMLink and sounds more like a performance shop recommendation.

Correct, I understand that. However, since you are throwing names out there, it is more of a reflection/review of the company you seem to be asking. That is why it seems like you are asking more for reviews, which is not an ECMLink question.

A dyno tune is always going to be better than a street tune, it doesn't matter what company is doing it (*typically). If a street tune were better then nobody would have a dyno...

The limiting factor is your wallet (cost), are you willing to fork out the money for a proper dyno tune which typically range anywhere from $350 to $800 depending on the tuner and the mod's you've got. A street tune can be anywhere from $150 to $300.

shop names removed to protect the innocent

(*typically meaning do your homework. A $500 dyno tune from a Honda shop isn't going to be better than a $50 street tune from a reputable DSM tuner that's familiar with ECMLink. Pound for pound, given knowledge base being equal, they dyno gives the car the best tune possible.)

Thanks guys. I'm new to this and one offered a dyno tune and the other a street tune. They are both about the same price. So I'll go with the dyno tune. Thanks

Dyno's are able to provide a more constant environment for the tune thus giving better data for a more complete tune. Street tunes have too many inconsistencies such as temp, hills, turns, ect. Also you really can't hold a certain rpm for a certain amount of time to collect the data to provide the best end result of your constantly battling traffic or hills.
