on the Gm maft setup is the rpm wire necessary for just the blow through set up I'm not trying to tune with it i hace the safc for that
 
No, it is not. BUT, when tuned correctly, you might like it to be. There is really no need for the SAFC if you know how to use it correctly. Sell the SAFC and buy a wideband if you don't allready have one.
 
But you only need the RPM signal if you plan on tuning with the maft? Say for someone using a DSMlink.
 
The RPM wire on the GM MAFT is for RPM based tuning. No need to use it if you have and like something else you use to tune based on RPM.
