Ok I am going to be purchasing a fmic today or tomorrow. I believe I will be getting the xs power/ssautochrome one. That one says it has a flange already welded on for a bov. Would that flange fit the 1g bov? Also I see it is a very thick core, 3.5" Will I need to cut my bumper cover in order to fit it? Or will I need to cut anything else on the car for it to be fit in well? Also I hear that the kits never come 100% complete, so what else would I need to buy along with it so I can bang it out in a day? Do I need any different size pipes or couplers or clamps or anything?

Here is the one i am referring to: http://www.ssautochrome.com/level.itml/icOid/1438

please scroll down to the 2g eclipse one. Also they have only one model for the 2g eclipse correct? That one is listed as 650 but through the email i can get it for 295 shipped. Just want to make sure that the one i get would be the same quality intercooler.

It is flanged for the 1g bov. YOu will need to cut some of the bumper to make it fit and also either loose your bumper support or cut that also. TO make the install much easier and bolt on i used a jpipe from i believe fp performance and a 2" silicone 90 degree elbow. and you will also need 2 more clamps.
Link to install write up someone did.

Ok sorry just noticed you are still on the T25. so the jpipe i mentioned is going to be different for you. YOu are going to have to do some work to make this work for you. im not sure but i think you will need another elbow of some sort to make things work.

I'm telling you this ahead of time so be warned! The quality of ssautochrome/xs power's stuff isn"t half bad. With that said here is the warning: IF YOU GET THE WRONG PART YOUR ####ED! They have no, and I repeat NO customer service. When I say none I don't mean shitty I mean it doesn't exist. Before you order anything try to get a single employee on the phone. Any employee, event the janitor! Cause that shit isn't going to happen. Try calling any one of the phone numbers listed and they are all dead or fax numbers. Try using their address to find a phone number through google or the yellow pages and you'll find the same dead ends. Also try looking their info up on the better business bureau http://www.bbbenc.org/commonreport.html?bid=3001613 and be prepared to frown. I say all of this having ordered an air/water intercooler with no complaints only to have a fuel rail sent with no hardware or mounting brackets and no way to return it. You may get what you want but if you don't your stuck with it anyway!

Ok thanks for the link. If anyone knows what type of extra piping i will need please let me know. I for now am going to be running with the stock t25. I will upgrade as soon as possible to the evo3 16g.
Will this fmic bolt up to the stock turbo? Will i need any adapter pieces? I understand the custom fabricating of the placement and all, just don't know what else i need in completion so that i can bolt it up.

Also how about this one? Would this most likely be able to bolt up? I know i would have to do some cutting in order for it to fit most likely but would the piping be bolt up? Or would i need to buy different bends and all?
This is the one i am talking about:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/95-99-Eclipse-DSM-2nd-Gen-2G-Intercooler-FMIC-Kit-4G63_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33742QQhashZitem330071811424QQihZ014QQitemZ330071811424QQrdZ1

Anyone ever use this one? Seems to have good feedback from buyers on ebay, but you never know.
The only reason this one interests me is because it is not quite as thick so wouldn't have as much problems fitting the bumper cover over it, and also a little cheaper as well. Also comes with the bov, but would most likely just use my 1g one i have on now.

its missing a coupler and the t-bolts to go with the coupler, but other than that it should bolt up to the stock turbo. Make sure too that you have a first gen or adaptable BOV because that is what it is flanged for.

The piping on that kit looks just like the kit that i have got just with a different core.

Is that in regards to the second fmic kit i listed? Should that piping bolt up pretty much?

Also for either of these kits, i am still on my stock t25, would that cause any problems with bolting either up?

well the piping that I am taking about on my kit is the kit that they are sold out of. I from judging by the picture would have to say that they both are the same piping just a different core. The piping that came with my kit will bolt up to the stock turbo, but like i said before i don't know for sure if its the same piping it just looks the same.

I have a picture of mine.... I will post it.

Ok thanks a lot, i appreciate it! With your set up, did you need to remove the fog lights? I was kinda trying to maybe keep them, but seems to be much more of a process if you do keep them hooked up.

Do you or anyone else know if a 3" thick core would still require me to cut the bumper support and bumper cover? I know with the ssautochrome/xs power one i do need to cut both the bumper support and cover. Anyone have a 3" and not cut that? Or is it just a given with a fmic you will have to?

pretty much when putting on a front mount you will need to do some cutting the bumper. And yes with the xs power kit you will not be able to keep your fogs. And to the second link you provided with the other kit it does look like the same pipeing with a different core and the way the core is set up you are going to need alot more pipeing. Unless they didnt picture it all.

One thing i just noticed when searching, do i need to remove the actual bumper itself? The crash guard bumper thing? If i do is it going to be street legal after that at all? If i crash wont it just crumple my engine bay real bad? Let me know if this has to be cut out as well, or if you can just work around it when installing the fmic.

yes you will either have to take it off or cut some out. an alternative to this is getting a different kit with a intercooler core that is not so tall, say 8". I did cut my support to make the intercooler fit and if checked could be illegal but most dont care. Also you are adding a 3.5" thick intercoooler core to help in the case of an accident.
