Question on Coolant sensor

Okay so i know there are 2 different CTS in the car (one for the gauge and one that feeds the ecu) and when the one feeding the ECU goes out it causes symptoms like i have (very hard to keep it running upon cold start, and some random misfires, and stallings) but the one thing that has me confused is that my logger(pocketlogger) shows correct values for this sensor all the time and im assuming that its reading from the main CTS and not the gauge since the logger is reading the data from the ecu?

any insight on this? is it possible that the sensor is still broken even though the logger is showing correct values?

Unplug the ecu sensor and see if the logger still reads the values.
