Question for anyone using a logger with a Vista computer

I'd just like to know what brand logger you are using, what program you are using, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, what USB adapter cable you are using (I think that is mostly the problem) I believe only certain cables are 'Vista approved'.

For the life of me, I cannot get my old M105 to sync with my laptop, and I know its Vista's fault. Never had any problems with my desktop with XP on it. Then again, the desktop connected with a serial port, for the laptop I have to use the USB adapter cable.

Everytime I hit the hotsync button, I get the blue screen of death. I'm about to trade it in on a setup more likely to work.

Well, the loggers i use are based on the systems they interact with (i.e hatlech, AEM, etc..etc..) but being that most of them are "simple" in comparison to most windows applications they aren't up to date with the latest windows versions.

For vista and some XP apps we will run a program called "DOSbox" and then run the executable file from that screen.

As for USB to serial adapters, i have gotten away with dynex and other "walmart" style units, but the absolute best-garaunteed-to-work-every-time adapter is the unit made by "keyspan" look it up on google, they are the best there is!

Thanks... I'll get myself one of those then. I'm pretty sure the USB adapter thingy is my problem. I'll google DOSbox and see if that may help me too, thank you.
