Question about TurboXS MBC

Does it require a ball and spring in order to controller boost? Mine does not have either the ball or spring, I purchased a used one. Where can i get proper ball and spring if It does ruquire it. Also on the side of the MBC there are two threaded holes however there is nothing threaded into them, is there suppose to be? Thanks in advance to any feedback.

I went to TurboXS website and Im assuming this is the "Standard BC" and not the "High Performance" one however im still not sure if the standard one uses a ball and spring.
