Question about PCV valve replacement

I just went to autozone to buy a PCV valvle to replace the leaky one in the car and it wouldnt tighten all the way to the valve cover. Yes it is the correct part number. Is the fitment just bad from autozone or is it possible that different valve covers (hyundai JDM etc) take different pcv valves?

I'll be buying a new part from the dealership next week but just want to make sure that one will actually fit

on a related note... does anyone know if the check valves go bad? I'm still seeing -10 vac and I'm thinking there might be more leaks

PCV valves have tapered threads to create a seal to the valve cover, that's perfectly normal. I worry when it does tighten all the way! As for the low vac reading, the easiest way to find leaks is with a boost leak tester. Do a quick search here or on VFAQ.com and you'll find plenty of info on how to make it and and use it.

It literally falls out though where as the old one will actually tighten and stay bolted down

why didnt you just take the pcv vavle off and go into the store? autozone has alot off different valves you just need one that fits they all do the same thing. and yes they do go bad.

Oh, that's definitely not right then. Like he said, just bring the valve in with you and match it up. The average Autozone employee can't keep up with every part for every car so they will mess up once in a while.
