Question about oil...

I'm lookin to do an oil change, and I have no idea if the Talon needs synth or non-synth, quantity of oil, the weight/viscosity. When I got the car there wasn't a manual to accompany it.

Also, could anyone supply me with a owner's manual for my car? It could be in either physical form or in Adobe, I'm not picky.

I can't supply you with the manual but I can tell you what the vehicle needs.

5W-30 is recommended for when temp. are lower than 100F, and 10W-30 is recommended if it reaches 100F or higher. Synthetic is recommended because it flows much better, and is supposed to be better for turbos and the motor. You can run regular motor oil and you'll be fine it is just a matter of preference. I've been running synthetic myself.

I do NOT recommend you put anything heavier than 10W-30 because your turbocharger will not like it, the oil is needed to lubricate the bearings if this oil is too heavy you run the risk of bearing damage.

I run just regular oil and that is fine like paranoidtsi said, synthetic is more exspensive and I am quite poor so...

Sorry, but we're not going to go through this yet another time. Please do a quick "which oil" search, and you'll have reading enough to carry you through the spring.

Check on eBay. Don't be concerned with whether it's an Eclipse or Talon manual, just get the right generation. Should be less than twenty bucks, including the nice vinyl case.
