i am considering a t28 turbo and i was wondering if they suffer from the same "fade-off" as the t25 turbos. what i mean is, does the boost drop off as i get closer to redline? thanks.

No.

the T28 pulls hard until redline, and is good for ~360 crank hp. Similar to 16 g, but doesnt require a kit to install, DIRECT replacement :thumb:

yea the Big T28 flows just as much a 16G but it has a sleeper status on a 2G. When you pop your hood you cant tell the difference between the T-25 and 28 by looks. Once i get some financial situations straighten out i plan on getting one. :dsm:

i also plan on the t28 swap, more likely the FP T28 Killer. i like the idea of keeping my spool time as quick as it is now, with the top end actually being there.

also has anyone ever got those wastegate replacement actuator thigies? i saw a ad for them( i forget where) and it had them on, said it will make the t25 able to do 16lbs to redline, instead of 16lbs and fall off to about 12. just a thought.

The FP Big28 has been said to flow 550 cfm.

550cfm is what a B16G is capable of.

I think I saw somewhere the Big28 would do 35/lbs air and the Big16 did 37/lbs.

ONLY the Forced Performance Big28 has gone 11.87 @ 119.

If you have a 2G, I highly recommend this turbo.....I have had this turbo on both of the 2G DSM's I have owned.

The spool-up time is great, the pull is awesome, FP does the best porting I have ever seen, and I got my FP Big28 back around christmans time for $750.00

That may sound like alot compared to a DSMTRADER.com used 16G.....But you get what you pay for, and this turbo is worth the dough.

With minor mods like IC piping, air filter, MBC, fuel pump, exhaust.....This turbo WILL go low 13's....EZ.

Just make sure your clutch is ready for the new found power......my stock clutch lasted about 50-75 drag launches.

Good luck.

Ok that makes no sense

First you say they flow the same 550cfm then you say the T-28 flows 35lbs/min and the B16G flows 37/lbs...well obviously you dont know that cfm and lbs/min are just different mearsuments of caculating the flow.

Second, what mods does the full-weight GSX have to run 11.87 @ 119. Sure those are impressive numbers but how do you know it was not in a 2.3L stroker?or spraying 100shot of nitrous too.

Third,

SBR- You have asked for it, so we will not let you down! Here you have a factory BRAND NEW big T28 with GT turbine wheel technology. If you are looking for a simple upgrade for the 2g with no fuss installation, here you have it! Big 16g power, out of a bolt on turbo....

FP- The FP-Big28 is our second generation of stock appearing turbos that are super responsive, and pack some serious power. The FP-Big28 wraps cutting edge Garrett Ballistic Concepts internals in the unassuming shell of a stock 2nd gen turbo. The FP-Big28 uses modified T25 compressor and turbine housings, which means this turbo could trick its mamma into thinking it was a T25.

AGP- The internals use a high flowing turbine stage complimenting an extremely efficient TB03 compressor stage rated at 36lbs/min.
-36 lbs/min
-supports 360bhp
-100% bolt on for 2G, no install kit necessary

They all supposedly have different technology in them. On paper the FP is not as good as the rest because it uses modified T25 compressor and turbine housings, while the other ones are BRAND NEW

wow, thanks for all the info!

so what versions of the t28 are people running, and what are your results?

I'm running the t28 killer from extreme psi right now but at the occasional red light Im stock :D . It holds strong all the way to redline ill vouch for that but i dont have a boost controller yet so im not seeing major power gains with just the turbo. Their a little expensive at 900$ but I liked the bolt on factor myself beings that its my daily driver. Its all preference though, everyones looking for something different. Im all about the t28 :thumb:

Most people on this site like FP because many top DSM drag cars use their turbos, so its kinda of a "proven" company. Before FP hit the scene many went for the T28 Killers. Which is a modified T25 fitted with the internals of a 16G.

I am personally gonna try AGP, because i do have one of their 50-trims in my room. I like their work and customer service. Unfortuanatly, i have to sell it because i have fianancial problems right now. So once i get everything straighten out Ill probably call them back up for my T-28.
