Just felt like sharing that my 1g bov (crushed) came in today to put on my 98 gst. :rocks: I'm very stock still - K&N "intake" ROFL is pretty much my only performance mod unless u count the "free" mods. I removed the boost solenoid restrictor... But i do have a question, do you think that putting a crushed 1g bov will give me too much boost surge? Like if poeple say the stock 4g63 is good for 15-16psi, and if a crushed 1g (no dodge mod) blows at 22ish psi, than is that a problem? Or is it not because the fuel is the limiting factor in what the stock engine setup can run? Also, Will I be good to put the 1g on without a boost controller (although i will be ordering it soon)... thanks for any help! :dsm:

It is crushed about 2mm below the top of the "hat" (don't know what to call it)

nobody can help me out? i'm thinking that it's not a problem, but i don't know for sure. also, if i have the bov and the pipe (j-shaped) it's mounted to, is this going to be a tough install? I'd think not, but just peeking under my hood, it looks like all the stock ICP is plastic, so do I just use couplers?

Stock 4g63 engines (not fuel or turbo setup) can handle a hell of a lot more than 15-16 psi. I had two stock 4g63 and ran both at 20+. This is, of course, with many mods, especially upgraded fuel system and tuning. I don't see why running a BOV would cause you car to run irregular unless it's not recirculated (which some will say doesn't really matter). You don't need a boost controller for a BOV. Are you planning on doing some upgrades? Otherwise I don't see the point in the 1g crushed...

edit: just saw your next post.... you'll need an adapter if it's going on the stock 2g pipe.

thanks for the responces... my car still has stock everything though pretty much, so is this not a good idea? gsxtereme, you're telling me that your turbo died from this? I don't have an extra turbo in my garage or anything, and it is my daily driver, so should I wait on this? If it kills a t25, would an upgraded turbo be able to handle the compression surge better or something? I am planning on getting the 2g solutions kit from turbochargers.com with the EVO III 16g. will I overboost (beyond 15-16psi) with the boost solenoid controller out though? I think the only thing keeping my car from overboosting now is the bov itself cause it's leaking at 13psi. I am planning on recirculating it :) of coarse. and can I make the adaptor with some mechical experience? What's in the adaptor.. i'm gonna do a search right now.. thanks again guys...

allright, figuring to put it on (if you guys think I should....) i will just buy upper intercooler piping with a 1g flange.. the lowest price I could find was RRE and it was $95 dollars just for pipe with flange. anyone know where to find a cheaper one? there was one on ebay at 30 and climbing with a 1g bov allready attached.. i'll buy it if i have to and sell one. what do you gus think?

:dsm: well, who makes those and how much do they go for? I don't know why I would want to keep the stock 2g uicp.. there look to be like 100 bends and flat spots. that makes sence, right? I'll go for one of those unless the adaptor you're talking about is like under $20, than it's a possibility. thanks for the reply :dsm:

A t-25 doesn't flow enough air for you to experience true Compressor Surge, you might get some flutter if the BOV is crushed too much but I doubt it. I ran a crushed 1G for years with no problems.

Dave Brode makes a nice cheap pipe to replace the crappy stock section.

sorry about where i posted it... it was gonna be just a "hey, i got my bov," and had a question... which lead to another, and another... so on and so forth... not trying to trash up the threads, i love em too. thanks for the reply canadianTSI... thanks for moving ludachris. and how do i contact dave brode? e-mail? is it still "[email protected]"?

oh really? thanks for the heads-up dude... yea, actually, i ordered the UICP with an uncrushed bov connected (it was still cheaper than just buying the pipe new, so I'll be selling the crushed one.) So that's for sale if anyone is interested...
