Q for anyone owning a TRE tranny

This is an extreme newbie question, but it must be asked anyways. I'm planning on buying a TRE transmission because my current is about to die.

My question is, does TRE re-build YOUR transmission, or do they sell trannys they already built?

Sorry to waste your time with such a simple question, but I got no reply to my e-mail from them as of yet, and I'm in dire need of a transmission. It doesn't say it on their website, either...

They do both, call Jon(tre) and get the details..

Yes, they do both. They can have a prebuilt one sent out as soon as they receive your core, then they give you $300 for your core tranny. If you've got a little time, it is cheaper to just have him build your tranny.

As of yesterday, Jon does not have any 2g cores in stock but he said there was only a few days turnaround on them.

But, I have one last question. I've heard a lot about this "core" and I have absolutely no idea what it is. What is it??

That's your transmission that you send in.

For faster turnaround, TRE usually stocks built transmissions. They receive your core and 'in theory' send out the prebuilt one the same day, shortening down time significantly. Currently, TRE will give you $300 for your good transmission core.

Well, it turns out that neither Shepherd nor TRE rebuild N/T transmissions.

Do any of you know where I might be able send my NV-T350 for a rebuild, or where I can buy a rebuild kit for my tranny???
