Could a poorly designed PVC system cause my car to smoke intermittently. I just did new piston rings valve stem seals and turbo was fine.i have an nrgy catch can with steel pads inside both hoses from valve cover to catch can then 1 from catch can to turbo inlet ??????

did you seat your new rings? usually i wouldnt directly blame a PCV system for smoking, sounds like you have blow-by of some kind or some faulty valve seals.

was the work performed by a shop or personally?

I personally did the rebuild and it was smoking way more before the rebuild so I'm stuck cuz that's y I rebuilt it too much blow by and low compression on cylinder 4

And sorry about the PVC I could swear I wrote pcv now I think the aliens installed a memory implant LOL

If your very sure that the rings are seating correctly like mentioned and that the valve seals are in healthy shape and so on, then I would go about if you haven't and consider checking the catch can. Not saying that's definitely it but it's worth checking. If its got lots of blow by still in it then it could be just coating the whole system with oil and sucking it out the can with that third line. I had a similar thing happen to me when I swapped my stock head with bad seals for a built one, left oil in the whole system. Especially if on a cheaper catch can which is what I run but after my head swap I switched it to vented instead of having a line to the intake. I would stay away from any type of media in the can it don't help them really (compared to the name brand one's anyway) and with a 3rd line to the intake its very risky for sucking something in the turbo. Also I'm sure you did, but did you change or check out the head gasket as well? Hope you resolve the issue!
