does anyone know the effects of putting a 16g compressor wheel in a 14b turbo. does the 14b compressor housing flow enough, or do you have to use the 16g housing. note: i would be boring the 14b housing to accept the bigger wheel.

A 14B comp housinng must be machined slightly (you can do it if you want...) to properly clear the sm16G blades (thrust bearing turbos have "natural" shaft play, if you do not account for this, wheel will meet housing). That or buy a 16g comp housing. Port the 14b housing out a little too. It could use it.

oh, I see what you meant by 'clearance' now...I was just assuming you knew that machining was required...
If it helps with the original question any, 20g wheels and even 46 trim garrett wheels have been stuffed in TD05H comp housings and somehow been made to work...kinda goes against logic...

i can do the machining myself. i have my own machine shop, and all the equipment to do it.

the last post was me. i forgot i had this i.d. on here. looks like i have two.

Ok.:D If you have a machine shop and you can get the dimensions and tolerances for the 16g, then you're in buisness.
