I have my a/c fan in my cooling fan spot because it fits. If I turn the heat on and press the a/c button, will the a/c compressor still kick in? Or will it just turn the fan on.

The fan will act as the cooling fan since your still using that cooling fan plug, itll operate as normal, i did this for a long time with no adverse effects other than slight temp rise, the big one cools better so I'd actually recommend trimming the big one anf making it fit if you can. I had 180* temps all day with stock cooling fan and rad.

Yes, the AC compressor will turn on any time you push the AC button with fan. Its for defrost mode which sucks the moisture out of the air, thus defogging windows. American cars automatically turn on compressor in defrost, but most peeps don't know it.

what will also happen is that if the compressor kicks on and you don't have a fan in place to cool the condenser your ac high side pressure will get very high .
