I will be running an external oil cooler. I am trying to decide which type of fitting i want to use. I like the idea of push locks but i do not seem to trust them. I cannot seem to find a good thread on actual feedback from them. What are the pros and cons (beside the obvious...... easier to change the hose). Would it not be recommended to use them for something that sees close to 100 psi and so important to your motor? Anyone with feedback from running pushlocks would be great!:thumb:

I bought my TSi with push-on type fittings and I havnt had any troubles with them and I was seeing over 100psi. The frp I bought from a buddy also has the same fittings and he said it never leaked so I trust them

I see people using them for like catch cans and stuff, usually i see the regular type fittings for the more important stuff.

I use push lock for my holset drain, just zip tie or clamp it if your paranoid, they work very well and are double barbed.

I was thinking about that. but i kind of rather use regular ones since hose clamps dont look that good in my opinion. I would use them for my oil drain because there is hardly any pressure. just like for a catch can set up, i would most deffinetly use them.

Pushlock fitting can do anything standard fittings can do.

But go right ahead and have fun cutting that braided line, having it fray and fighting with it.

The only time i run braided line is for fuel line under my car to give it extra protection.

If your really worried about the pushlock fittings coming apart use these... Oetiker Clamps

Push lock fittings are a lot stronger than I ever imagined. I would only use braided for two reasons. First being if it were under car, only for protection against road debris. Second, if you had it laying around and it would work. I wouldn't buy braided for any other reason.
