what is the difference between the coildcovers and a plan coil? Can they both be mounted on the same struts or do they both require different struts???

The term "coil-over" simply means coil spring over shock or coil spring over strut.

Coil overs in terms of modified suspension usually are adjustable but they will say "adjustable" this usually refers to dampening or how quick the strut responds to bumps. You can adjust a knob for a firmer responding suspension but rougher ride or softer ride. They are usually paired with adjustable ride height springs.

Adjustable springs sometimes are misleadingly called coil overs, have a threaded collar with a nut that the spring sits on. The nut acts as a spring "perch" you can adjust the nut up and down to raise or lower ride height. If your wanting to lower the car and be able to tweak the suspension adjustable springs are a cheap way to do so. Keep in mind if your running the OEM struts and you drop the car too low it will soon blow out the struts after you bottom it out a few times and the ride quality will go to shit.

Search Emotor USA coilovers on the site and youll see a pretty good setup for around $400USD it replaces all four struts and springs and are a direct bolt on. You cant actually adjust the dampening on the struts like most "coilovers" but they are still a good upgrade for the buck. You can however adjust the ride height AND the struts are made for the drop so you wont need to worry about blowing the seals out like on the OEM units.
