I have a jay racing alternator relocation kit on.
The water pump seems to be aligned with the alternator. But it seems like the crank pulley is the one that is off.. I look to be sitting almost an inch out of line toward the block. I'm not sure what to do. The pump pulley is definitely on correctly.
Is it possible that, like the 2g's the water and P/S pulleys can only go together one way, and the P/S pulley is keeping the water pulley out? It could be possible, as the alt. pulley is tough to see and check alignment.
However I am fairly sure that the issue is the crank pulley. And I'm eating though belts within 50 miles. then I lose P/S, Water pump, and alternator.. I'd like to keep away from that.

nope, no play-- it sits behind the bolt thats on there and has a dowel pin there to help you align it onto the timing sprocket

The outer of the 2 water pump pulleys is on backwards, I bet. I did this last summer. There's nothing about the pulley to keep you from putting it on backwards. Just be sure to loosen those 4 little bolts before taking the alt. belt off.

When I did this, the car made it about 2 days before the belt flew off. It happened about a 1/2 block from my house. These 1Gs, They keep pulling me back in!

Well I looked at that. And if it were on backwards the alt. belt would be sitting roughly an inch from the P/S belt. But that's not the case, the outer pulley is only about 1/4 inch off the inner pulley. Now unless both those pulleys have been shimmed for some reason, which I haven't had a chance to look for, then it's not them that's out of line. And the belt does have to drop in closer to the block to hit the crank pulley.

So I don't know. I'll have to take it apart and cross my fingers. I just bought the car, there's this and an oil leak. I'm gonna cover my bases, I was a bit wary of buying a built car.

I know this is old but did you ever figure this out? My car has been fine since timing belt replacement about 2yrs ago and no problems with the other belts until very recently. The way my belt set up is the crankshaft the alt and the w/p is one belt and the other is the w/p to the p/s. it has been tis way for 2yrs. Now since this problem has come up to where the crankshaft belt pops off it seems as if the crankshaft pulley somehow moved closer towards the block causing the belts to be misaligned. I say the because the pulley is eating through the timing cover(melting it). Now I did notice that the rubber in the pulley is half missing could it be I just need a new pulley? Any help would be nice.

Reyg, issue you are having is quite common. The pulley that is coming apart is called "harmonic balancer" and is made of a center piece ('hub") and an outer "ring" with rubber or rubber-like compound in between. Over time ribber gets weaker and leads to separation between the "ring" and the "hub". Good thing you caught it now, there are many horror stories about what happens when those things come apart at speed. Replace the balancer with either OEM one, or Fluidampr. Fluidampr is a high-performance balancer that uses some sort of thick liquid and is made to not come apart over time.
