winnipeg,
I own a 1994 Talon ES, Auto Tranny, FWD, Non Turbo.

I took off the tranny pan today to look for bits and pieces. Sure enough, I found needle bearings clinging to the magnets. I prodded behind the valve body and found part of a bearing cage. So:

-is this a common occurence?
-is it easy to fix?
-what is the name of the part (other than bearing)?

It feels as though very little pressure builds, then dissapates in less than a second. Help!

If you really have found a bearing in the pan, you have a big problem.

It's hard to say which one of the 15 or so bearings that it could be, but when something like that fails, you are looking at a complete rebuild.

Thanks. Oh well. I'll just get rid of this thing and take a 50% hit, I hate this thing. Every time something goes on this car it costs triple what it would on a domestic car. I would burn it to the ground and collect the insurance money, but I already have a couple red flags with my insurance provider, doh.

I also have a 91 Caravan dead in the driveway with a dead, Mitsubishi built transmission. Last time I ever deal with Mitsu/Chrysler.
