I pulled the check engine light code and got code 24 Vehicle speed sensor.
Now I've been looking this up and can't find too much info on it. All I know is that it's behind the gauge cluster.

Can you buy this sensor in store? (searched at auto parts store with no luck) If not how do i get this fixed?

Not sure how you determined it was behind the gauge cluster as it sits in the engine bay.

It's held in by one bolt. Remove the bolt and make sure you have a good hold on to it!!! You don't want to be dropping this in the tranny, otherwise you're going to be fishing for a long time. You should be able to get one either from someone parting out their car, a junk yard, or from an OEM parts dealer.

I got it from the forums I have a 1g not a 2g. The threads said that 1g is cable driven and it attaches to a "reed switch" behind the speedometer. Is this switch replaceable or do i need a whole speedo. If so where can i find one beside ebay checked there yesterday. However i did see this

1G DSM Speedometer Drive Partsis this what i need to replace or was the rest of the forum right when they're talking about the "reed switch" behind the speedo. Please help i need this fixed asap.

kinda odd i had a code like that come up too the only thing it affects though is my speedo reads 10 miles faster. so if i am running 20 MPH it says 30MPH. found out the hard way cop pulled me over for doin 50 on the free way when i thought i was doin 60. i think i need to check the connection make sure that is plugged in all the way.
