Ok, guys, i have a 1995 Eclipse GSX and the only performance mods it has on it are; hard upper intercooler piping with a HKS SSQ BOV, and 2 1/2 cat back exhaust. the car has about 90,000 miles on it and seems to be running fine. however when i come out of hard acceleration, or sometimes any kind of moderate acceleration the car will let out a puff of white smoke. sometimes it is more than a puff though, its a cloud! :thumbdown i have the HKS SSQV on the car that vents to the atmosphere and i have heard that it may cause problems with puffs of white smoke, but could it be something this bad to where it causes clouds? or do you think it could be that the turbo seals are going bad and it is leaking coolant through? i dont think it is an oil leak through the block or head, or head gasket because it isnt constant and it doesnt always happen. also, wouldnt an oil leak be more of a darker color? this is a pure white smoke that is emmited. i just dont know if it is the BOV, a problem with my turbo, or something worse? any help or advice would be much appreciated here guys! thanks!

recirculate your bov like you car was designed to do. you are running rich between shifts and anytime the bov vents, if it still does it after your bov is recirculated we can go from there :)

buy a hard intake pipe, your bov will still be easily heard from inside and outside of the car and you get the added benefit of a properly functioning vehicle. im recirculating my stock bov into an injen hardpipe and its loud as hell, passengers always say damn that was bad as hell! when it opens

Usually if you have white smoke coming out of your exhaust it is due to antifreeze getting into the motor. Do a compression check maybe your head gaket is gone.

well, i dont see the white smoke till after i let OFF the gas, not during acceleration or cruising...just after i boost hard and abruptly let off the gas. however if i slowly let off the throttle and stop boosting and go into vaccum the puff of white smoke will not occur. its very strange. nobody here thinks that the white smoke could be coming from the turbo after spooling hard and expanding the rings in it and then letting coolant seap through the seals? since these turbos on these cars are coolant cooled i almost think that this could be a problem with the turbo seals and not the head gasket. if it were a head gasket i think i would be experiencing overheating problems and have not had a single one yet. any more advice considering all points taken?
