The Talon feels ready this year for sure. The conversion is done, and we are just getting a feel for it right now. With any luck, there will be one more on the track this year.

Mine too. Julia just got home and it seems even closer to reality this year. :D. We have a few little things to finish up before track time, but with taxes coming in in 10 days, it will be done. Will there be the dinner set up again this year? Not too sure how it turned out last year.

Oh man I would love to go and support the DSM community, Pueblo is kinda far, but If I get some of my buddies to go too I might just go. Also to give thanks to Ludachris for the awesome website and service it gives to all of us..:rocks:

They drive IS300's and and one has an AE86 corolla, Ill see who wants to go and well see how the Talon is running..
 
Mike, you and Julia not only better be there, but one of you better be driving that Talon or Chris and I are gonna have to do something to you 2!

so whats nasa?is it like SCCA? and where is pueblo? im new to the area (laramie). going to wyotech and theres quite a few of us DSM'ers here. love to have a place to go out and open up the car.

I've registered for PMI. I'm also thinking maybe sometime soon trying Performance Touring. I've yet to sit down to figure how many points I have to see which class I'd fit into.
I also found out I don't have to go thru all HPDE classes before I can get a competition liscense. I just have to sign up for the competition school.
Mike, weren't you going to send me some pics of the parts of the relocation kit? What all do you have of the kit? How much would shipping be?

Go to the forums and search around. It's quite a kick driving your DD on a real race track. You drive your car w/an instructor the very first time you go out and w/other cars in HPDE 1. When the instuctor thinks you are qualified he'll promote you to HPDE 2. That's when it becomes real fun, because you get to go by yourself w/the other cars out on the track.
 
So it's just $150 to register for one day? And that's it to get your car on the track in HPDE 1? If that's the case, it's not bad. And I have a set of tires I want to murder. But realistically the event in May looks better. And even more realistically, I need to get my car running before I say anymore. hehe
 
Grant, you do have to join NASA, which is $45. You also get the quarterly Grassroots Racing mag.
Get that car running and come on down. Yur're missing one heckava thrill.

Yes, it's $150 for a full day or $250 for two full days for any HPDE or Time Trials group. It should be a blast this year. The NASA participation is growing like crazy compared to last year and the year before. I've been told that registration for this event is almost full for HPDE 1. If you are planning on going, register now to make it in. If you can't make it, they'll apply it to the next event you want to attend or refund your money.
 
Would I need to get a helmet too? I don't really want to rent one because that's just gross. But if I must rent, then it might be wise to invest in a good head sock.
Would a go karting helmet work? My buddy collects those things. I think he has in the double digits. For example, an Arai helmet for karting?

As long as it has a Snell rating of 1990 (SA1990; M1990) or newer it should be fine - it can be for cars or motorcycles. I have an Arai motorcycle helmet that I use. If I ever get into wheel-to-wheel racing I'll have to buy a Snell 2000 ( SA2000) or better.
 
I had all intentions of making it to another, but at this point I would rather work, as I am not too sure I have personally met someone on any of the boards that has not screwed me over in some way shape or form. I am trying my damndest to get Julia out there this year driving, but I do not think I will go. Lord knows I do not need to meet more, I cannot do it anymore.

Wow man, sounds like someone really pissed you off. If there's anything I can do to help you make it out there for the event let me know. Chances are that the people who make it out the the event aren't the ones that screw people over.
