I just got towed home. I hit a puddle near my house, wasnt more than an inch deep but after I went through it my car started running verrrrrrry rough and wont idle. I got towed home and dont know where to start. Any suggestions?

check to see if your aircleaner just got completely soaked, thats where id start. also make sure none of your hoses came loose and maybe pull a plug to see if it looks wet like water and go from there. let us know how that turns out. I think the tow company should offer discounts to dsm drivers...haha...that's why I got triple a

Start by checking the basics. Make sure all of the electrical stuff is still connected then look for any piping that may have come undone.

Have you checked the air filter yet? if you have look in the mass airflow sensor to see if theres any water, if there is then allow it to airdry off the car and then test it to see if it is still good.

Check your intercooler piping although that would have nothing to do with the "going threw the puddle" but i almost had my car towed home once ### im IC piping blew off and it wouldnt idle for anything.... its also explains the pop/boom you heard too 10-20 pounds of pressure blowing something apart would make a boom like noise... just a start... good luck with your fix.

It's been said but defiantly start with checking your lower intercooler pipe and where your intake attaches to your turbo both of those could come off with a good shot of water, and with either one your mass air flow sensor wont be reading anything that your car is taking in. driving though a puddle a good speeds can do a lot of damage. I ripped the bottom bolts that held my fenders on clean out when I went though a 8 inch deep 'puddle' in my 94 camaro..
