Ha. Yea. Big surprise there I think it's because it's feeding off the filter housing though, since it has absolutely no shaft play still. What fitting do I need to make my AN line screw into the head? Is there a restrictor I should consider? Better yet, which way is the better way? I'm thinking a restrictor since it's filtered oil.

I should mention that the turbo is practically brand new and has minimal shaft play as well. I called PTE, and they recommended -3 AN line instead, but I think I'd rather use a restrictor. Is this something I can order through russel's or something? It must be a -4AN fitting on both ends, as the douche who owned the turbo before me decided to weld the NPT fitting into the center cartridge.

Thanks guys,
Shawn

I've come to the conclusion that a -3 line isn't an option since the previous owner of this turbo decided to weld the -4 fitting into the center cartridge.

I think I found a fitting today though.

Thanks,
Shawn

PTE is correct that this could be a feed issue but it can also be a return issue as well as both. I would also check for a clogged/kinked return line and make sure that the crankcase is properly ventilated.

was i trying to sell something to him? no? did i offer to sell anything to him? no. i said, if you will kindly look above and pull your head out of your ass.. "i have -3an to -4an fittings." Never implied i had them for sale or was going to sell them. Because im not selling them. i have one that i used on some brake fittings... Simply implying that they are produced.

Wrong, saying, "There are -3an to -4an fittings" implies that they are made. Saying "I have -3an to -4an fittings" knowing your past attempts to sell shit in the forums implies to me " I will sell you some", so don't even try that bullshit reasoning.

I just had my PTE 50 trim redone by a quality rebuilder and we came to this conclusion on my end .
Problem #1 Shaft play . I had so much shaft play my bearings were shot. PTE puts what Turbo exchange calls a " floating bearing system in . The rebuilders( turbo exchange Put stationary 360 degree Bearings in

Problem 2 i know this has no bearing on whats going on w/ yours but the direct cause of my turbo going out was insuficent oiling . I did have it on the filter housing but T/E said there was no factory restrictor in the turbo so I ordered These 2 parts from Turbo time . The 1st part was the oil restrictor for a -4 an line the next is a inline filter. The reson I went w/ the inline filter was because It was told to me that there was metal shavings embedded in the bearoing. I do not know if it was from the new Motor or the turbo self destructing.

Here are some part #'s for you.

GOL-40-04AN -4AN large filter 53 dollars @ http://www.turbotime.us

TT-DSMOILFEED1 DSM oil feed for turbocharger. has inline filter to protect expensive ballbearing turbos. $144.00 also from Turbo time justr in case you need a new line.

#FCM2048 this is the reducer you may need if you wish to use your current setup .. http://www.musclemotorsports.com/1047043201.html

I am sorry I can not locate the # for the restrictor( pressure)... Hope this helps some .
