anyone ever attempt this themselves? i searched didnt find anything...I think im gonna be dong this myself over the weekend ... i had turbo out already but was having a problem with getting the nut off its on there tight as a mofo and seems like its gonna break the shaft if i turn any harder... anyone ever have this problem ... ive rebuilt a few turbos before and never ran into this ..

Some compressors are held on with a reverse thread nut. Do you know about turbo balancing and aligning the shaft with the wheels?

I got my PTE turbo on Dec 2004,Before installation I inspect the unit and try to turn the shaft but it feel too tight, Is it normal? WTF

I send my turbo for service a few days ago after my engine blow last week. Now I found out something different between PTE and Garrett turbo.
1.The PTE 360 thrust bearing is different from a normal Garret turbo repair kit.
2.The Garret 360 thrust bearing got a three nut to lock it to the center cartridge but there isn’t any on PTE. The PTE 360 thrust bearing got jammed to the turbine wheel shaft. :sosad:
3.The washer that locks the shaft to the center cartridge also too tight and got jammed to the shaft. :(

any comment.

I'd try Forced Performance. I hear they make a pretty decent turbo.

my friend also bought his green from them in 2002, he also said the same thing..... :thumb:
but i don't think it will make any diferrent now....

does anyone know where i can get PTE turbo repair kit? how much it cost?
