Prothane Inserts Won't Go In

I can't get my prothane motor mount inserts to go in. I removed the old OEM insert and a thin metal ring. Do I also need to remove the ring in the pic?

Nope, they should go in. Have you tried using a rubber mallet to put it in? Mine went in without a problem. YOu can also try putting a likke gear oil on the inside of the mount to get it started.

I've tried many methods: Grease w/ a sledge, heated the metal part in an oven and froze the insert-wouldn't go in. Any other suggestions?

I also used a rubber mallet. Just did mine last weekend in fact. It was a pain removing the old insert and metal ring but once that was removed the new mounts went right in. Didn't need to grease them or anything. Have to get them started evenly, I think the rubber mallet is the trick. Good luck!

I think you remove the metal ring

Remove the metal ring.....then lay it on and get it started slightly so its in my a smidge all the way around then put it in a vice and go, it took me about 3 hours start to finish for all of them.

Also you will see theres a small flat edge on each mount, its there for a reason. So the mount can go in all the way. You will see what I mean. Goodluck
