You hardly ever pass 10psi on the street.

Drive that friggin car.

hahah, do sometimes when there's no traffic and no police

i havent redlined in months...always shift at 6k. no point in going higher, because the t25 just drops boost rapidly after that. 4k to 6k at 15psi is my powerband right now.

next thing will most likely be a big28. at that point ill probably hook up the propane and my egt gauge and inject a little. then when i have $500 more i'll dsmlink it. i got the eprom already :D and then i'll be more or less done with the car.

on the other hand, i feel kind of bad about dumping more and more cash in to the beast, because in 4 or 5 years i want to get a mk4 tt 6 speed. oh well, i'll build up this little guy first, try and get 300 horsies or so on pump 93 octane. propane will more likely than not help me get there :thumb:

understandable....It is propane and needs to be handled corectly. The tank however is not ours, just any DOT aproved tank Vapor only will work. Our kit does not include a tank. They are $27.99 at home Depot

Doh, I see where it says that on your web site now. OMG (note to self, read everything on web page before posting LOL)

Well, It looks like Imp Pwr Online beat me to the post! Oh well, I'm in the process of this setup right now Bryan so when I get some numbers I'll be sure to post them (that is unless I decide to ditch everything and sell the car in the middle of it OMG .)

jason. im half tempted to order one friday.

my main concern is this. not the motor. i could care less about it.
what about sealing it off from the rest of the car

to me, it seems hard to do. due to the hatch back nature of dsm's in general.
how big is the tank? i plan on making it a weekend only thing

other then a boost controller and access to a datlogger. any fuel mods needed?

techy questions are what will sell the kit to me
=o)

Well have you ever seen a battery box for approved drag racing. just get a box like that a drop the propane tank in it.

I'm kind of wondering the same things here.

Well you will need an AFC becasue adding the propane will richen you up a bit.

YOu also still need to have the fuel mods necessary to run the amount of boost you plan to run w/ the propane.

You can't run 20 psi just becasue you have propane you still need a pump and injectors.

i ran 18 psi with 510's and a rewired pump on 112 octane
i figure once i get the pump i'll go up a bit, but not much

that was my main reason for the interest in this kit. to keep it on the car and spend money on something else besides race gas.

Yeah just wondering there, what you are talking about using water? I'm lost here, help me out. I am considering to buy the propane hookup later and upgrade my turb to a T28.:thumb:

I am just going to have to agree with everything said so far! Everyone seems to know what needs to be done and what they need... L2RTSiAWD knows what's up!:thumb:

water injection = a system similar to the "propane" setup but sprays a very fine mist of water into the intake manifold. it does that the propane kits does. it prolongs the "knock" to run higher then normal boost. be it on race gas or pump gas

kinda yes...

Water works in a fine mist because it's ability to remove or absorb heat, thus lowering in cylinder temps and HOT spots and decreasing knock.

Propane has a cooling effect but it's main benefit is from high octane fuel. And a Fuel's octane is it direct ability to NOT spontaneuosly combust under heat and or pressure. So the higher octane the less prone to knock.

where is a kit for the water injection thing (website?). Is there a site i can read on this knock thing. I havent gotten as far as some of you guys as to adjusting boost yet to experience "knock" thing ah well hit me back here

well crap, I want this kit, but it looks like I need all this other stuff before I get the kit. Crap! I wish I had sponsors or something, I'm just to poor for what I want, can't wait till I get through college, then I can get anything I want. WOOHOO! But I want it all now...........damn!

Hey 1stGENracer, i am right there with you. LOL. I think i am understanding this concept now. The propane is better because it raises the possibilty of higher boost, with higher octane. Where as the water system lowers the combustion chamber but keeps the octane rating the same. hmmm i'll take the propane kit into consideration.:thumb:

Don't want to push propane on anyone, as there are good alky/water kits and people do get great results. But water does have it's limits. We actually are getting a following from the GN (buick) people. One took out the water injection and found the ablility to run more boost on pump than water would allow. He told a friend who told a friend. If any group of BOOSTERS have to be respected for knowledge and time spent on BOOST it's the GN and GNXers!
