project 4G63 Turbo running one day not the next any ideas

a couple of months ago i dropped in a rebuilt 4G63 the car was running great then the next day i went to start it and nothing. I read somewhere in the forums that this guy had the same problem and it turned out to be the ECU. other than that does anyone else have any ideas on what the problem could be? has anyone one ever experienced this problem if so what was the problem.

Are there any intermittent problems when it is running? Perhaps there is a loose connection on the fuel pump. But it does sound like the typical problem of leaky caps. in the ECU.

More info, does it crank and not start?? Does nothing happen at all??? Can you hear clicking when you try and start your car???? Do all the acessories turn on???? By the way, let me formally welcome you to the insane world of the DSM.

If your not getting spark then you want to narrow down as to why. Plugs-plug wires-coil pack's-then I beleive you would want to look at the ECU I. But I'm still guessing ECU because it's unlikely all of the plugs, plug wire's, or coil packs went bad at the same time. Just my .02.

I check all the plugs & wires and everything is great. i even have an extra coil pac laying around i hooked up and still no spark.also brand new battery.

Sounds like your ECU lost a cap.

Then I would suggest swapping in a known good ECU to test if that works. If it does then you know exactly what your problem is. If not then the problem lies somewhere before the ECU. Hope that helps.

I had the same problem, but mine decided to shut down when i was trying to go home from school.....sucks.
